Crochet Dictionary

One of my goals with my website is to teach others how to read crochet patterns. I feel like it’s been becoming somewhat of a lost art over the past decade or so. I have heard many crocheters state that they learned from YouTube, and when they want to make something, they find a video.

While there is nothing wrong with this, I want to make sure that the tools and resources are out there and available for everyone free of charge to learn to read and understand patterns.

I remember years ago there used to be a website with every single crochet term/stitch out there listed on their site with the name of the stitch, the abbreviation, and the written out instructions on creating the stitch. It also had links to tutorials of each stitch. This is actually how I learned new stitches for new patterns I was trying. It was an awesome resource

Upon following the old bookmark for the site I found a while ago that it no longer exists. I hope to build one of my own, right here on this page.

All terms are in US terminology. Later I may be able to add one for UK terminology.
